Getting Around in Skopje
Taking a taxi in Skopje shouldn't cost more than 200 denars. From the apartments (Partizanska) to the Central Bus Station the ride should be around 150 denars.
Always ask the driver to put the taxi meter on and make sure that the car has the company's name or logo on it. Like many cities in Europe, if you seem unsure and foreign, the charge will probably be higher so appear confident about the price and if the taxi driver still insists on a ridiculous price, find another taxi, there are plenty.
Skopje has a vast bus network. One ride costs 40 denars but you have to buy the ticket in advance from a kiosk, it can't be purchased on the bus! When you go to the kiosk ask for Skopska Card. It is a plastic card you'll have to swipe every time you get on a bus. You can always top it up, the minimum is 5 journeys.
